Chelsea’s show gardens by top designers are second to none. For 2019, gardens include a Facebook garden, celebrating the positive aspects of social media

There are other flower shows, but none quite like Chelsea. This premier horticultural show, which has been a key event on the London calendar for more than 100 years, will be pitching up at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea from 21 to 25 May 2019.
According to the show’s website Chelsea is, “world-renowned, glamorous and quintessentially British … a truly unique and unforgettable day out.”
It’s not far wrong. Whether you’re looking for ideas for a project, to mingle with the gardening glitterati or just chill in a gorgeous environment, Chelsea is always worth a visit.
If you’re looking for inspiration, Chelsea’s show gardens by top designers are second to none. For 2019, gardens include a Facebook garden, celebrating the positive aspects of social media; a Silent Pool Gin garden, with botanical water wall, and a Back to Nature garden, whose designers include the Duchess of Cambridge.
Being outdoors surrounded by plants has proven benefits for our wellbeing, so just soaking up the atmosphere can help relieve your stresses and strains. Across the show garden categories, designers highlight the positive power of plants – check out Kate Gould’s uplifting space for children with complex needs or Andrew Duff’s sustainable urban retreat.
Chelsea’s trade stands have everything from spectacular sheds to unique gifts and the latest innovative garden products. The show’s great pavilion is a gardener’s paradise too, with stunning plants from the top nurseries of Britain and beyond.
This year, six gorgeous garden buildings will house artisan studios where you can watch craftspeople at work, in mediums from sculpture to textile design.
There are plenty of dining and drinks options, including Raymond Blanc’s enchanting Jardin Blanc for fantastic food and cocktails in a garden setting. Or there’s the Rock Bank Restaurant for locally-sourced meats, sustainable fish and seasonal vegetables.
