Work starts on £450m Marble Arch Place scheme that will deliver an 18-storey residential tower with 54 apartments, Construction has started the £450m redevelopment of Marble
Arch Tower – a 1960s eyesore on the corner of Oxford Street and Edgware Road.

Designed by renowned architect Rafael Vinoly, the work will deliver an 18-storey residential tower with 54 apartments and a seven-storey commercial building providing over 95,000 square feet of office space.

Scheduled to be completed in 2020, the new homes at Marble Arch Place will have views of Hyde Park, with several floors featuring large terraces.

The project also includes a new multiscreen Odeon cinema and retail spaces with cafes, restaurants, and shops. Developer Almacantar also says the completed project will include a disused petrol station restored on the site, which it claims is the first new petrol station in London for over 10 years.

Kathrin Hersel, property director of Almacantar, adds: “Marble Arch Place will be a stunning new landmark for London – an enviable residential and commercial address where the sophistication of Mayfair meets the calmness of Hyde Park. The scheme’s design and position makes it a prominent new addition to a flourishing West End.”

In addition, Almacantar has also received planning permission for a mixed-use scheme at 466-490 Edgware Road. This will feature 76 townhouses and apartments, of which 47 will be affordable units.
