The Floating Market is opening at Paddington Central and will run from 29 August to 2 September 2018. The five-day event will see barges selling local gifts and produce, and market stalls open along the towpath.
Paddington Central is an exciting destination to visit on any old day of the week, but later this month it will host the ultimate pop-up: a floating food market.
The Floating Market, which will run from Wednesday 29th August to Sunday 2nd September, will see barges along the Grand Union Canal sell street food and local produce from some of the area’s best artisanal producers and craftspeople.
From cheese to flowers to charcuterie, visitors can source what they need in the way of fresh produce, gift items, and street food by taking a trip down to the towpath.
Live music will play on busy days, the barges will turn into shops, while market stalls will line up along the towpath.
So, what can you expect? Clifton Nurseries, a plant nursery in Little Venice, will be selling a colourful array of stems, while the Local Honey Man from Walthamstow will be selling jars of the sweet stuff.
Also occupying stalls will be Breadwinners, an enterprise which helps unemployed refugees find their feet, while natural soap company, Imazi Naturals, will be supplying wonderful products for your bathroom.
If you fancy a tipple while you peruse the market stalls, you’ll be well-catered for. The London Shell Company located at Sheldon Square will serve the finest English sparkling wine from a pop-up stall, and Crazy Dave’s Cider will be selling its refreshing apple beverages to thirsty marketgoers.
